In recent years, the research ties between the Iowa State University experimental neutrino group (Prof. Mayly Sanchez and Prof. Matthew Wetstein) and the astroparticle physics group (Prof. Frank Krennrich and Prof. Amanda Weinstein) have become increasingly close.
The two groups, which have a strong synergy in terms of technical expertise and overlapping interests in technological R&D, now actively collaborate.
The astroparticle physics group has developed an interest in research problems that can be addressed using future Intensity Frontier experiments. There are a number of natural synergies between studies of flavor physics on the Intensity Frontier and physics on the Cosmic Frontier.
The experimental neutrino physics group at Iowa State now consists of four principal investigators, four postdocs, three graduate students and a number of undergraduate students.
